What is your new role at ColinKurtis?
I am the new Digital Media Manager at ColinKurtis.
What does a typical day look like?
My typical day has meetings to make sure everyone is on the same page. These are important because every hand on the project knows what to do and who is accountable for how to get the job done right for our clients. Also, I work with the Digital Team to ensure they have what they need to get their tasks done. I am here to assist and tie up loose ends.
What part of your role do you enjoy the most?
The favorite part of my role is seeing how the individual projects formulate into the big picture of our client’s goals. This is interesting to see how the process goes from brainstorming to fruition.
Can you tell us a little about your professional background?
Before working at ColinKurtis, I was a marketing manager for a property restoration company and a digital marketing strategist at a marketing agency. I have done everything from social media and Google ads to designing a billboard to be shown on a main road. Before that, I graduated from the University of Michigan-Dearborn with my degree in Marketing. There, I was elected to be the Vice President of Competitions for our American Marketing Association Chapter, leading my team in marketing competitions with schools from around the country. I also received Dean’s List recognition multiple times and earned a First Place French Honors award. In addition, I have 7 years of sales experience with accolades of being in the top 20 in the country at a nationwide company I worked for.
How do you enjoy spending your time outside the office?
Outside of the office, I enjoy playing guitar, reading, going to local sporting events, concerts, and trying new restaurants. I live near Detroit, and there is always something new to do as the city is being developed more and more each year.
What did you want to be when you grew up (before you knew you would have a career in marketing)?
When I was growing up, I really did not know what I wanted to be! I had art skills in school and danced around what I could potentially do for a living to channel my creativity. I then explored more about the world of advertising and it intrigued me. As I went from sales to marketing, mixed with art and creative ways to present products and services, advertising seemed to be a good fit for me. I look forward to the challenges and opportunities here at ColinKurtis!
