What is your new role at ColinKurtis?

I am a Copywriter & Content Marketer.

What does a typical day look like?

I start each day by creating a to-do list and checking my calendar. I spend my time on various copywriting and proof-reading tasks as well as in meetings with my fellow copywriters and the rest of our amazing creative team.

What part of your role do you enjoy the most?

I like the attention to detail that goes into copywriting and understanding each client’s unique brand.

Can you tell us a little about your professional background?

I graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Public Relations in 2020. I then worked doing marketing for a trust company outside of Denver. In this role I was a jack of all trades and experienced every aspect of the company’s marketing and sales. I learned a ton about marketing as well as about myself and my skillset. I ultimately decided to focus on copywriting/content marketing which led me to my current position at ColinKurtis.

How do you enjoy spending your time outside the office?

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, hiking, playing tennis, and trying new coffee shops and restaurants. I currently live in Minneapolis, which has an amazing food scene; I never run out of great places to try!

What did you want to be when you grew up (before you knew you would have a career in marketing)?

I wanted to be the cake decorator at a Price Chopper grocery store (anyone from Kansas City knows what I’m talking about). I still love a baked good, but I’m not the frosting artist I once aspired to be.
