Jamie recently joined our team as our Account Manager. We wanted to get to know her a little better with a Q&A.
What is your new role at ColinKurtis?
As an Account Manager at ColinKurtis, my role is to be the liaison between the clients and the rest of our team. It’s my job to make sure everyone is on track and that we’re delivering on all projects, no matter how big or small. I support the Account Directors, lead status meetings, build relationships with clients and help our teams execute on strategic plans for the year.
What does a typical day look like?
Every day is different, but it usually starts with checking emails, looking at my calendar for the day and staying up to date on our team’s Trello boards. Once I have a list of things that need to be done for the day, I get to work! I typically have meetings throughout the day to talk about ongoing projects, keep the team up to date and connect with clients.
What part of your role do you enjoy the most?
My favorite part of the role is working collaboratively with the team. I love the creative process and coming up with new ideas to help reach our client’s goals.
Can you tell us a little about your professional background?
I graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism where I studied Strategic Communication and minored in business and psychology. Before joining the team at ColinKurtis, I worked at an experiential marketing agency in St. Louis, where I worked with clients to bring their brands to life for consumers. Whether through a pop-up footprint at music festivals or a digital execution, my role was to make sure every piece of the consumer journey was an experience that built brand loyalty.
How do you enjoy spending your time outside the office?
When I’m not at work I love to stay active, whether it’s walking around the city, playing sports or taking Peloton classes. I spend most of my free time with friends and love to cook, watch reality TV and try new restaurants.
What did you want to be when you grew up (before you knew you would have a career in marketing)?
Growing up I wanted to be a professional basketball player in the WNBA. When I stopped growing at 5’3” and realized I was pretty mediocre at basketball, I switched my focus to marketing.
