Lorraine joined the CK team at the end of 2019, as a Key Account Strategist. We wanted to get to know her a little better with a Q&A!
What is you new role at ColinKurtis?
I’m the new Key Account Strategist, so I oversee strategy, story and the tactical plan, continually monitoring things to ensure the best work. Along the way I maintain sight of the holistic view of the business, while being mindful of flawless execution. I drive the annual business planning process to develop strategy, as well.
What part of your role do you enjoy most?
I especially enjoy problem solving. This business is never boring since there’s always a new challenge on the horizon. I really enjoy meeting challenges head on and finding optimal solutions.
Can you tell us a little about your professional background?
I cut my teeth at Leo Burnett and was there for nearly ten years. I worked on brands like Samsonite, United Airlines, McDonald’s and P&G where I became a VP Account Director. From there, I went on to be the Account Lead at Ogilvy on Sears/Kenmore, and DDB, working on JCPenney and Safeway. Additionally, I’ve done international stints in Hong Kong and Singapore.
How do you enjoy spending your time outside the office?
I enjoy spending time with my family, running and traveling.
What did you want to be when you grew up (before you knew you would have a career in marketing)?
Interestingly, this is what I’ve wanted to do from an early age. I went to a photo shoot and knew that I absolutely wanted to be in advertising at the age of 12. I went on to major in advertising and my skills have evolved with the industry.
